The main raw materials are sodium carbonate and quartz sand. The process is ingredients, burning and dissolving.
The ingredients can be divided into artificial weighing and automatic proportioning. Artificial weighing is to weighing quartz sand, soda ash in proportion, pour into powder mixer by electric hoist. Automatic proportioning will input of the soda ash, quartz sand to each silo, silo bottom have weighing sensor, below that have screw conveyor, press start button for batch ingredient, start the screw conveyor under the silo, ans send into mixer. The materials are evenly mixed through the screw conveyor to the bucket elevator, added to the silo which is located in the upper part of the furnace.
Use pusher type feeder to feed material into horseshoe type reverberatory furnace on a regular interval and quantificationally, chemical reaction at 1350-1450℃, molten sodium silicate by air cooling or water cooling formed into glassy sodium silicate solid particles. Final product goes into warehouse, or stacking or cooling to normal temperature then packaging for sale.
Fuel of reverberatory furnace is natural gas, heavy diesel and producer gas in environmental protection order, In China, consider about cost, the selection order is factors is producer gas, natural gas and heavy oil.
Reverberatory furnace design use regenerative preheater, tail gas from furnace can preheat air and coal gas to 1100℃ and 900℃, exhaust gas temperature can be lower than 200℃, can save energy.
If need liquid sodium silicate, put solid into dissolving tank, there are two types dissolving tank, use rotary dissolving for water cooling solid, add 0.4MPa steam, dissolving about 2 hours; use static dissolving tank for air cooling solid, add 0.7MPa steam,dissolving about 4 hours.
Adding a certain amount of liquid caustic soda to adjust modulus, add steam, The glassy solid particles of sodium silicate dissolved, and the solution into the sedimentation tank will precipitate impurity, clarified liquid into the finished product tank after passing the tests, if tests failed, product send into mix tank to adjust (modulus, concentration) and then pass into the finished product tank. Due to high transportation cost of liquid products, the general users choose to buy solid and dissolved into liquid nearby.
The emission of "three wastes" of dry process
1.Waste gas: Combustion exhaust air emission, normally use clean fuel, main components is CO2.
2.Waste water: water fully used, no water water emission.
3.Waste slag: no slag.
