Before requesting a quote for liquid detergent production equipment, define which parts of the manufacturing process you want to purchase. A mixing system, a storage and transfer package, and a line that also includes filling and packaging represent different supply scopes.

A clear enquiry helps the supplier identify suitable equipment and makes quotations easier to compare. Begin with the intended products and output, then describe the equipment needed at each stage.

1.Define the Product and Output Requirements

Identify whether you plan to manufacture liquid laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, liquid hand wash or several products. For multiple products, indicate the expected output of each and whether they will be made in separate campaigns or at the same time.

Specify capacity per hour, per batch or per day, together with planned daily operating hours. A batch quantity alone does not establish hourly output: ingredient addition, mixing, temperature changes where required, discharge and cleaning all take time.

Keep mass, volume and bottle counts separate unless the conversion conditions are known. Product density is needed to relate tonnes to litres, while bottle output also requires the filling quantity.

2.Specify the Preparation and Mixing Package

Explain whether the requested package should include raw material preparation, metering and dosing, mixing vessels, or connections to existing equipment.

Describe the expected product viscosity and whether ingredients are supplied as liquids, powders or pastes. Mention any known heating, cooling or foaming considerations. These details help assess mixing arrangements and material handling requirements.

Do not select equipment solely by tank volume. Nominal vessel volume, working batch volume and production rate are different specifications.

Homogenization and vacuum processing should be discussed where the formulation or process requires them; they are not default requirements for every liquid detergent product. If a complete formula is unavailable, start with the target product and basic characteristics. Confidential formulation details are not required for an initial enquiry.

3.Decide What Storage and Transfer Equipment Is Needed

State whether raw material tanks, finished-liquid buffer tanks, transfer pumps and connecting pipework should be included. List any existing tanks or pumps you expect to reuse.

Storage and transfer arrangements depend on product characteristics, production scheduling and the distance between equipment. For multiple products, identify whether separate storage or transfer routes may be needed for assessment.

A buffer tank can help coordinate batch mixing with downstream filling, but its volume is not a measure of hourly production capacity. Its suitability must be considered together with the operating schedule and filling demand.

4.Confirm Whether Filling and Packaging Are Included

If the purchase includes packaging equipment, specify the container type, filling quantity, bottle shape, cap style, label requirements and final packing format. Photographs, drawings or samples can help clarify container details.

State the required filling speed for each main package size. A bottles-per-hour figure without a filling quantity does not define the liquid volume that must reach the filler.

Identify which operations are required: filling, capping, labelling, coding, conveying or other packing steps. These should be confirmed individually within the quotation scope. If packaging equipment already exists, provide its operating specifications so that the preparation and transfer sections can be assessed for compatibility.

5.Provide Installation Conditions and Automation Preferences

Share the project location and explain whether equipment will enter an existing factory or a new building. Available space, usable height and a layout drawing help assess equipment placement and connections.

Provide available electricity, water and heating or cooling conditions. Mark unknown utility information as pending rather than assuming it is sufficient.

Describe the operations you want automated and the tasks operators will handle. PLC or DCS control and clean-in-place (CIP) arrangements should be evaluated against project requirements, rather than assumed to be included.

6.Compare Quotations Against the Same Supply Scope

Before comparing prices, check whether each proposal covers the same equipment, operating basis and responsibilities. Clarify interfaces with equipment supplied by others, and whether engineering, installation, commissioning and training are included.
